Notices are official announcements from your association. They're designed for important, time-sensitive communications like maintenance alerts, rule changes, assessment notifications, and compliance reminders.
Creating a Notice
Navigate to Admin > Content > Notices and click Create Notice.
Notice Form Fields
- Title — Clear, descriptive headline (e.g., "Pool Closure for Maintenance — March 15-20")
- Content — Full details of the notice
- Type — The category of notice (see Notice Types below)
- Priority — Normal or Important (important notices get highlighted)
- Category — Organize into a notice category
- Visibility — Who can see this notice
- Effective Dates — Optional start and end dates for time-sensitive notices
Notice Types
Notices can be categorized by type to help residents quickly understand what the notice is about:
| Type | Use Case |
|---|---|
| General | Routine community updates and reminders |
| Maintenance | Scheduled maintenance, repairs, service disruptions |
| Safety | Safety advisories, weather alerts, security notices |
| Financial | Assessment changes, payment reminders, budget updates |
| Rules | Rule changes, policy updates, compliance reminders |
| Meeting | Meeting announcements, agenda postings, date changes |
Important Notices
Mark a notice as Important when it requires immediate attention. Important notices are visually distinguished from regular notices — they appear with a highlighted border and badge to draw residents' attention.
Use Important status for:
- Emergency maintenance or safety issues
- Deadline-sensitive information (assessment due dates, meeting RSVPs)
- Major policy changes
Use Important sparingly
If every notice is marked as Important, residents will start ignoring the designation. Reserve it for truly urgent communications.
Attachments
Attach supporting files to your notices:
- Meeting agendas or minutes
- Official letters or forms
- Maps, diagrams, or schedules
Upload files directly when creating or editing the notice.
Effective Dates
Set effective dates to control when a notice is relevant:
- Start Date — When the notice becomes active
- End Date — When the notice expires
Notices with expired end dates can be automatically de-emphasized or archived, keeping your notice board current.
Managing Notices
Editing
Click any notice to edit its content, priority, or effective dates. Changes take effect immediately.
Archiving
Old notices should be archived to keep the notice board clean. Archived notices remain accessible but don't appear in the default view.
Best Practices
- Be specific in titles — "Water Shutoff: Building A, Tuesday 9 AM - 12 PM" is better than "Maintenance Notice"
- Include action items — Tell residents what they need to do, if anything
- Set effective dates — Time-bound notices should have end dates so they auto-expire
- Use the right type — Categorizing notices helps residents find relevant information
- Post promptly — For time-sensitive information, post as early as possible
Next Steps
- Posts & News — Share longer-form community updates
- Events — Create events for meetings and gatherings
- Visibility & Permissions — Control who sees your notices
